We’re
looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking leader to drive our dedicated
software development team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing
our control system software platform by strengthening engineering practices and
fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous growth.
This position is in Sandvik’s Turku site which is the main product development and manufacturing center for our Load and Haul equipment.
About the team:
Our cross-functional team focuses on developing Control System Software for underground loaders and trucks. We are a collaborative and diverse group committed to pushing the boundaries of technology in the mining sector.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development of the software platform, ensuring its fit for purpose, scalability, and flexibility for future enhancements.
- Promote professional development of individuals and the collective growth of the team.
- Provide technical leadership in best practices, ensuring high code quality, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand long-term business goals, translating them into a strategic technical roadmap for the platform, and effectively communicate decisions and plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Your background and what we find important:
- Strong people management skills with experience leading and developing teams
- Effective change management skills to drive and manage organizational change
- Experience with C++, Qt, or CODESYS in embedded software development is highly appreciated
- Demonstrate a proactive and systematic approach with excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and cooperation skills; excels as a collaborative team player in diverse, international work settings
- Proficiency in agile methodologies; experience in this field is highly desirable
- Knowledge of machine control systems, electric powertrain, battery electric vehicles, and distributed control software is a significant advantage.
- Possesses a degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in engineering or from a relevant field
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish is appreciated
